A Day In Malibu

A Day In Malibu

You would expect Malibu Farm to be a cool, rustic, and cutting edge place to eat, and it is (they have a great cookbook!): it’s both picturesque, with the old men fishing over the side of the pier and the sound of the waves, and delicious – the coconut milk quinoa oatmeal has become a regular in our kitchen.

Malibu shopping is for those of a high artistic aesthetic, with places like RRL, a Ralph Lauren vintage store with a beach cowboy vibe, and Burro in Malibu Country Mart, a fun store with everything from hand-poured candles to the funniest cards you will ever find. In the middle of this shopping complex is Taverna Tony’s, a Greek restaurant that is lovely and lively and welcoming.  The food is superb, and we drank up the sunshine under a bower of bougainvillea as we dug into fresh fish and tirokopita. If your dream of Malibu is the Beach Boys, surfing, and convertibles, the dream still lives.
